Wellesley is a charming affluent town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. It is part of Greater Boston and is located in eastern Massachusetts. It is bordered on the east by Newton, on the north by Weston, on the south by Needham and Dover and on the west by Natick.
The town was originally a part of Needham and was then called West Needham, Massachusetts. During the 1880s, residents voted to secede from Needham and the town was re-christened Wellesley.

Transportation in Wellesley
There are many transportation options in Wellesley. The town is served by three stations along the Framingham/ Worcester Line of the MBTA Commuter Rail. The stations are Wellesley Square, Wellesley Hills, and Wellesley Farms.
The bus service in Wellesley is provided by the Metrowest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) and runs along Walnut Street, Cedar Street, and Route 9.
There are also specific transportation services for seniors. The Wellesley Council on Aging contracts out a daily low-cost minibus service offering elderly access to several local medical facilities and the Woodland MBTA station.

Wellesley is known for its historic district, with homes built circa 1860. However, in the recent years, the town witnessed a surge in condominium developments.
